Industrial Custom Products change of ownership

After nearly 3 decades the President and owner of Industrial Custom Products (ICP) has retired. On 9/1/15 Herb Houndt sold ICP to long time employees Ray Stacherski and Chad Simonson. Ray Stacherski will resume the role of Owner/COO while Chad Simonson will take over as Owner/CEO.

Industrial Custom Products adds New Technology for Large Thermoformed Parts

Minneapolis, Minnesota – May 28, 2014 – Industrial Custom Products (ICP) is continuing to grow by purchasing new manufacturing technology to produce large thermoformed and vacuum formed parts. All of the advantages of the award winning ICP Quality Platform will now extend to the production of large thermoformed and vacuum formed plastic parts.

A MAAC three station rotary thermoforming machine was recently installed at ICP’s Minneapolis plant. This new manufacturing technology gives ICP additional capabilities for large part production:

  • The capability to meet the demand for high quality large thermoformed parts
  • Part size capability up to 8 feet by 10 feet, 40 inches of depth and up to .375 inch in thickness
  • The latest technology in a computerized control system saves time in set up and processes jobs faster and more efficiently
  • Motor driven platens provide faster and more accurate production
  • Latest and hottest oven technology increases processing speed
  • Fast dry cycle speeds increase production speed

The MAAC three station rotary technology gives ICP the capability to produce large thermoformed parts for OEM manufacturers in a broad range of markets including agricultural equipment, recreational and off-road vehicles, power sports, lawn and garden equipment and construction equipment. Typical parts may include:

  • Roofs
  • Canopies
  • Shrouds
  • Dunnage trays and returnable trays
  • Tubs

New ICP Prototyping Program for Die Cut Parts Delivers in 3 to 5 Days
Minneapolis, Minnesota – May 8, 2014 - Industrial Custom Products (ICP) is introducing a new program for Die Cut Parts Prototyping for parts made from flexible materials.

ICP developed this prototyping program for designers and engineers to move seamlessly from product development and prototyping to manufacturing production quantities.

ICP’s CNC based ATOM Flashcut dieless knife cutting system has no tooling requirements. Die cut part prototypes, samples for testing and pre-production runs can be produced quickly from a wide variety of flexible materials up to one inch in thickness, including foams, rubber, silicone, sponge, plastics, fabrics, felts, textiles and tapes.

Prototyped parts made out of flexible materials may include gaskets, seals, guards, dampeners and protective packaging.

ICP becomes first company to earn Award of Excellence for eight consecutive years

Minneapolis, Minnesota – March 1, 2012 - On January 24, 2014, Industrial Custom Products, Minneapolis, Minnesota was awarded the Polaris Industries Award of Excellence for the 2013 production year and became the first company to ever win this Award for eight years in a row.

This 2013 Award was given by Polaris Industries to only fifteen suppliers who achieved top performance in all three of these areas:

  • Delivery - 99% or Better On-Time-Delivery
  • Quality - Achieving a reject rate of 100 parts per million or less
  • Cost Reduction - Implementing cost reductions meeting or exceeding the annual cost reduction standards

ICP Sales Manager Chad Simonson said “We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Polaris and we are proud to accept this eighth consecutive Award of Excellence. This Award further validates the dependability of the proven Quality Platform we have built at ICP.”

Growing Industrial Custom Products Purchases New Manufacturing Technology, the ATOM Flashcut Dieless Knife Cutting System

Minneapolis, Minnesota – June 11, 2013 – The continuing growth and success of Industrial Custom Products (ICP) has allowed it to purchase new manufacturing technology to continue that growth into new markets while serving its customers more cost efficiently. A new ATOM Flashcut Dieless Knife Cutting System was installed on May 28, 2013 at its Minneapolis, Minnesota plant.

The advantages this new cutting system provides to ICP’s customers are:

  • Optimal material utilization with advanced yielding technology to maximize production efficiencies and control costs.
  • Faster turnaround time for customer parts and products.
  • Rapid prototyping for designers and engineers to meet “speed to market” objectives.
  • A high quality “clean edge” on manufactured parts.

The dieless knife cutting system is CNC based and enables ICP to manufacture OEM and custom parts quickly and cost efficiently from a wide variety of flexible materials, including foams, rubber and its by-products, silicone, sponge, plastics, fabrics and felts, textiles, tapes, leather and heavy leather and many other non-metallic materials from a wide variety of manufacturers.

This new CNC cutting equipment is the newest technology in industrial cutting and further enhances ICP’s ability to manufacture and fabricate OEM and custom parts from flexible materials, including the following products and applications:
